The Last Wedding | Rochester NY Wedding Photographer

November 22, 2009

Wait.  What?

You didn’t think this is REALLY my last wedding did you?!  No.  I didn’t think so.  It was, however, my last wedding of 2009.  The. Last.  One.

Now.  The rest of November and December I get to whip all these weddings into shape for the brides and grooms who are waiting for some rocking images.  You know I love you guys!  I have more to say about that (don’t I always?) but first…doods…how COOL are these?  The Inn on Broadway is the most BEAUTIFUL room ever for receptions.  I love it there!

Yummy yummy yummy.

Tammy, thanks so much for the great job taking pictures for my daughters wedding. It was a fabulous job on your part!

Tammy,
You made such a great impression on me—your style is both very professional and also humorous which somehow doesn’t sound like the best combo for wedding pics. You definitely have transformed photography into an art!

A New Favorite | Skaneatelas NY Wedding Photographer

November 19, 2009

Flowers are handmade by the UBER Talented Diane at DK Designs!  I remember S sharing the link with me early on and being SO EXCITED about these flowers.  I remember thinking…eh.  CLAY flowers?  Are they going to be weird?  So not weird.  So AMAZING and cool.  And SO MUCH FUN TO PHOTOGRAPH.  Cuz you know…having fun is why I do what I do!   Now I’ll tell you a little secret:   it’s possible that we’re all going to be in a top secret project — more later — if it really happens!  ::wink::  Woot woot!

Week Peek: A Recap | Rochester NY Photographer

August 19, 2009

Here we are.  The absolute HEART of busy season.  I don’t know if you know this about me — but I follow over 500 blogs daily.  (I know, right?  Srsly.)  I don’t read them every day — but I do know this — that right now is when you find your favorite bloggers — photographers especially — sort of trail off into silence…or a post begging you to understand how busy they are.  ::grin::

So I am blogging to tell you:  I am busy.  I am blogging.  And I am here.  Crazed.  But here.

This week (okay.  last week.  I am a wee bit behind in most things in my life.  ::grin::).

Here’s all the fun stuff I got to do:

Jess and I re-wrote the FAQ section on the blog.  That sounds boring, doesn’t it?  But truly, it was fun to work with Jess on it and fun to see it all come together so awesomely (is that a word?)!

I put together some FUN AND CRAZY WEDDING SLIDESHOWS for Kelly and DanBrooke and Dave, and Bethany and Patrick.  But only check them out if you’re serious.  My slideshows are long and elaborate and I am in love with every single one of them.  Also – let me know what you think — cuz I’m still working on a format…

A 70th birthday party with a PUPPY and BOYS and LAKE and SAND.  Could the day have been more perfect?  I think not.  It was so much fun!

Seniors.  If you are looking at my photographs and thinking – wow.  I love those  – I need Tammy to take MINE ( or my son/daughter or my neighbor who’s a senior or the girl in Ontario) — my answer:  get.on.the.calendar.  My sessions are booking so fast my head is spinning.  But there’s still some.  Grab one.  that’s all I’m saying.

And for the record:  when did seniors get so sophisticated and beautiful?  I know.  a definite fact.  That I NEVER looked so good.  And my senior pictures?  Big ol’ zit right in the middle of my nose.  The Rudolph Series.  Nice.  ::laughing::

An AMAZING WEDDING with two families that were beyond wonderful.  And a couple of silly fun incidents (hello — the priest almost fell on me!) that made taking photographs EXTRA fun!

A guitarist with dreams of making it big and writing his own music.  Rock on!

A family of girls so beautiful that I could NOT take ONE bad picture.  Not one.

Did I mention the PUPPY yet?  OMG.

I love this time of year.  One of my photo buddies said — you know Tam, you use sun flare A LOT — but somehow…I never get tired of it!  Right?!  I NEVER get tired of it!  So stay OUT SUNSHINE!

Making Beautiful Images is Amazing to Me | Rochester NY Wedding Photographer

August 7, 2009

So.  This week.

Here’s the cliff note version:

wedding.  fun.  pink.  amazing sunset.  (you’ll have to wait for those however.  they’re still a secret.  ::grin::)

senior Bryanna with the most.amazing.hair.and.blue.eyes.ever.

crazy fam session that included sand eating (8 month old) and falling into the lake (3 year old).  Yep.  I laughed the entire time.  So freaking cute!

a pair of adorable Llapso’s and their moms and a great sunset.  but lots of mosquitos.  You’d be surprised at how many mosquitos I have to photoshop off people’s faces at this time of year.  srsly.

an engagement session that started with a soccer ball being kicked quite dramatically at the poor fiance.  And yep.  My suggestion.  Luckily Victor didn’t actually HIT her with the ball.  But I made a note to self:  bad idea.  ::grin::

Whirlwind week.  New ideas.  New components that I can hardly wait to share with you…but I must.  Self restraint is never good for me — but I am trying to improve as I get older — so you’ll have to stick with me and see when it rolls.  But I mean it — so cool.

Without further ado…I give you:  this week in pictures.  Sort of.  this week in sneak peeks for clients.

Sneak Peek For the Week | Rochester NY Wedding Photographer

July 9, 2009

There is a problem.

When I neglect the blog — there is a log-jam of sessions that I want to show you…talk about…tell you how amazing and fun they were….and I realize that I would have to post like…a bajillion entries to catch up.  And then I get overwhelmed.  And then I don’t post.  It’s such a VICIOUS cycle!  ::laughing::

So — here’s today’s brainstorm:  the “here’s what Tammy is currently working on” Sneak Peek.

Some of these sessions haven’t been blogged or facebooked (oh.  facebook.  there’s A LOT more work on my facebook profile!).  Some of them have.  Some of them are weddings where I got to shoot cool places with other cool photographers like Gwyneth Colleen in the Cayman Islands and James Bass in the Thousand Islands ::waving::.  I love them both and had sooooo much fun – I mean, seriously?  Is it possible to have a cooler job?  (Although I do not mean to suggest that Gwyneth is in the Cayman Islands — she’s a wedding photographer in New Hampshire and James is a wedding photographer in Syracuse!)

But mostly — it’s just me working.  If you can call what I do work.  I love my clients so….freaking….much!  ::waving::

March 16, 2009

Candice is making a big move across the country.  I’m envious — she’s moving to SAN DIEGO — how AMAZING is that?  It’s something she’s always wanted to do — so I am especially stoked for her because she is following her dream!  Go girl!

In order to prepare — she’s a kick BUTT hairstylist — she’s working on a new website, a new portfolio, and some great “Candice at Work” shots.  I cant wait to see it all come together.  Here’s a sneak from today…

Milestones | Rochester NY Family Photographer

I love watching kids grow up.  It always amazes me when a family comes back to me to see just how MUCH their children have changed.  How beautiful and perfect they are at each stage I get to see them.

The lovely Miss G has reached an important milestone — and her family wanted to capture it and make it EXTRA special by letting me capture this amazing young lady at this moment.

LOVE!

For the Love of Buffalo | Buffalo NY Engagement Photographer

March 15, 2009

So yeah.  I don’t really get a chance to hang out in Buffalo very often — I worked there for a couple of years in downtown – AND I went to UB for a bit too — but I had forgotten how completely cool downtown is visually.  Stunning.

I got a chance this weekend to hang out there with Brooke and David — two of the sweetest people I know.  They were so much fun to photograph!  Brooke found me on the internet and they live in Brooklyn — so this was officially the first time we met in person.  Brooke and David met while they were in college at UB – and are getting married here in June – so we all met up to do some super fun and cool engagement pics.

I love me some cool engagement pics!!

We started off downtown.  Weather = PERFECT.

I love this photo so much.  Neither one of them realized I was taking photographs at the time.  What?  Sneaky?  Oh yeah.  I like when I’m invisible.  icon smile For the Love of Buffalo | Buffalo NY Engagement Photographer

Brooke said she fit very naturally into Dave — and I totally agree.  When they are together you just feel the synergy of how they fit together…

bd2 copy 698x550 custom For the Love of Buffalo | Buffalo NY Engagement Photographer

At UB Brooke and Dave met while she worked at the Radio Station and he worked at the TV Station both on campus.  So we traveled “back in time” to the place that their relationship began.  And the fun part was– while were were there — one of the DJ’s poked his head in and went — hey — is this YOU in this picture?  And sure enough — a whole pile of pics had mysteriously appeared featuring Dave and Brooke.  How cool is THAT?!

I love this picture.  I love the look on Brooke’s face.  And OMG people — this girl had the most AMAZING skin EVER.  BEAUTIFULNESS!!!!

Brooke and Dave — here’s your sneak peek.  I can’t wait to share the rest and share your wedding day with you!
